  • Advice on a good male-dominated tv series to watch?

Hi guys. So, I just rage quit on Arrow for killing Tommy. I didn't continue watching towards season 2.

Anyway, I ran out of tv series to watch. I've been googling but I can't find any tv series that sparks my interest. Can you guys give me a good male-dominated tv series to watch? Or if you can direct me to a website that asks advise on good tv series based on one's preference, that would be nice.

No old shows. Like shows before year 2000.
The more male badasses, the better.
The more male-positive it is, the better
No pure romance shows. The more action-filled, the better
    No kid shows

    Shows I typically enjoy:
    1. Supernatural - best show ever!
    2. Grimm
    3. Arrow (before they killed Tommy)
    4. Under the Dome
    5. True Blood (first 3 seasons)
    6. Rome
    7. Spartacus (seasons 1 and 3)
    8. Friends (only watched it because it's popular and I got bored. only watched the first 4 seasons)
    9. Wicked Science (only watched it because of "Most male-positive shows" thread. first season was nice. 2nd season was dumbed down)
    10. Walking Dead (first 3 seasons)

    Shows I will never enjoy
    1. Game of Thrones - I would have loved it but I already explained at the AVFM lounge why I don't

Dude, I'm curious as to how you can hate on GOT while watching and liking stuff like Supernatural, Arrow, Friends??? and True Blood???

True Blood is basically feminist/LGBT/progressive propaganda.

Thank you Maxx. I'm curious why you mentioned Supernatural, Arrow, Friends and True Blood?

I have to admit, True Blood suck after season 3. I didn't continue watching. The first 3 seasons were really good. I don't see how it's feministic in any way. I would love to hear your opinion why.
I also would love to hear your opinion on the other 3 especially Supernatural.

And you're probably right, maybe I just have a personal bias on Game of Thrones. Partly, the reason is that they always kill my favorite characters. I learned my lesson on Arrow. The first instance they kill one of my favorite characters (Tommy), I quit watching the show immediately. That way, I won't hate the show that much.

Game Of Thrones checks all of your boxes.

Did you try Gotham? Or anything with Batman?
Second the Sherlock recommendation. But do not watch Elementry, its Americanized and Feminized and an insult to Authur Conan Doyle.

And thanks for the Wicked Science mention. I was the one who suggested it. Second season is better if you imagine the bad guy as a normal guy slowly turning into Lex Luthor because that what happens over the season.

Justified is one of my favorites.
NCIS is okay too. Gibbs is probably a decent role-model.

I'm also a big fan of Doctor Who, but I'm not sure it meets your criteria. Some of the story telling is really good though.

Add Marco Polo and House of Cards to the list.

Of course you're going to find that any show that takes place in a time period more than 50 years ago will portray women as oppressed sexual slaves with zero power who are simultaneously waltzing into some of the most powerful positions in the world and controlling the most powerful men in the world by virtue of having a vagina and using it to lead men around by the noses like broken horses. It's aggravating, but even though every show does it you can still find some good ones as long as you parse out the feminist bullshit.

I haven't seen that one. The fact that Carl Kimlinger of Anime News Network hated it must mean it's really good. (SJWs have thoroughly taken over American anime fandom too.) I'll have to check it out.

deadwood was very good, i would like to see male oriented shows that aren't so violent though, I'm not averse to fantasy violence and the violence in deadwood was most certainly in keeping with how people would have interacted in a 'wild west' type situation but i would like to see a show with strong men who don't need to use violence and can use intellect, reason, a strong moral compass and language to resolve their problems and deal with the world.

there aren't that many shows like that, Sherlock does come close but i really didn't like it when they made him a murderer at the end and also making him a sociopath was a bit too much i feel, although while he says he's a sociopath his relationship with Watson is highly fraternal and caring and i feel maybe he hides behind the label of 'sociopath' to hide his true nature that when you get through his hard exterior he is still able to maintain friendships and act honorably and morally, i was just so disappointed that they couldn't have a man who is intelligent without making him a killer in the end though and also they do portray Molly Hooper hitting him for really just not being interested in her sexually, it seems to be the driving force behind her veiled love/hate for Sherlock but i dislike how no one reacts negatively when Molly Hooper assaults him over her hurt feelings, they do try to make that look socially acceptable, those are my gripes with Sherlock but coming from the feminist socialist BBC Sherlock is still pretty good in comparison with everything else they come up with
