• Any Anime fans in the House?

As my name suggests, I am a huge fan of anime (specifically it's from Transformers: Super-God Masterforce, which I highly recommend)

I've watch plenty of anime, from mecha anime, shonen anime and hell even a few magical girl anime.

Probably the series I am looking forward to the most this year is this...

So any other fans of anime?

RE: Any Anime fans in the House?

I love anime because they're the ones coming up with awesome concepts and presenting them in the most badass way possible. I also enjoy cartoon nudity and naughtiness, which anime often delivers. I hate anime because the characterization usually sucks balls, their attempts at humor are irritating, and misandry and gynocentrism are rampant.

So basically as long as the anime keeps itself in check and sticks to its awesomeness I enjoy it. Otherwise I lose interest pretty quickly. I've watched dozens of different animes and found some amazing ones that I'd recommend in a heartbeat. And some are just weird and irritating. The problem is you can never tell which it's going to be until you watch it.

I've watched a few in my time. Recently, though, it seems that almost 80% of it is crap. Mostly because most anime plagiarizes the ever-loving shit out of other animes.
But there are a few oldies that I like. Venus Wars being most notable.

I agree, anime is very often repetition in its methods. Moreso then even western animation.

However the good stuff is still good.

I love alot of 'animation made in Japan'...

...but find that too often these days 'anime' has become a byword for the sort of misandric pussy on the pedestal female action girl nonsense that I turned to eastern media to, to avoid in the first place. You never know what you are gonna get with 'anime'.

And don't get me started on the fanboy hentei stuff. LOL

I love all Satoshi Kon's stuff.
Shigarui was great.
Berserk I've flirted with and like.
Death Note rocked I thought.
Golgo 13 is a fucking boss.
Lupin III
Ippo is great if you like Boxing.
Ninja Scroll was a fave back in the day...

Some that really stand out to me are:
Spice & Wolf
Last Exile
*Can't remember the name but it involved battlesuit pilots who required clones of themselves raised from birth to operate the equipment, and a race of aliens with linked minds who were cruelly experimented upon.
Bleach up to the end of the rescuing Rukia in Soul Society arc.
Ouran High School Host Club
Fullmetal Alchemist
Eden of the East

Those are just a few off the top of my head.

Edit:
Sekirei
Baccano!

So I've been watching an anime called "B Gata H Kei" and it's a surprisingly accurate depiction of the sort of shallow, petty, narcissistic girl unchecked gynocentrism produces. The main character is unlikable in every way, not to mention coasting on her good looks as an excuse to develop no other skills, interests, or talents, while the boy she's after is a mangina she abuses nonstop and he's happy to be abused.

Frankly I'm not sure how feminists would interpret it, they'd either love it for its rampant misandry and gynocentrism or hate it for its all too accurate portrayal of the kind of woman feminism has produced. All I know for sure is that I can't see how any guy watching it couldn't immediately come to the conclusion that being a grasseater is the only sane course of action.

Here's one that hasn't been mentioned:

Hellsing

And prolly my favorite of all time is Rurouni Kenshin. I had the luxury of being stationed in Okinawa when this was on TV.
